The greatest definer of the music of a musician is the musician.
People read meaning to every visible activity by a musician, as it appears to be their only access and perception to the musicians personality.
The energy a musician should channel towards the visual representation of his/her brand should be a priority same as making the music. Many creatives jump into the moving train of trends and regardless of its initial success on their part, keeping up with its movement becomes difficult and really demanding on their mental health most especially, as the proposed brand they’ve created in the perception of their audience is the direct opposite of who they’re truly.
Being yourself creates room for growth without so much stress, you evolve with your brand but in an extremely creative way, broadening the definition of your personality and given your audience a wider experience and expression of what you portray.
When you’re not flexible enough about your story, you become rigid hereby boring yourself and people who support your music, on the other hand flexibility doesn’t imply change of personality but broadening the horizon or limits you’ve set to how you define yourself without changing at all, being willing to learn while evolving naturally is the key.
So while creating or planning to create, your priorities should lean more towards questions like
•Does my content define me and my approach to life and the society at large?
•The character I display or the characters displayed in my content; do they really portray the true behavioral traits and tendencies of my personality?
•Can people tell a fun story of the personality I’ve portrayed?
•Has this personality reached the extreme point of its prospective experience in this lifetime and other lifetimes?
