Weekly – Press conference

SmallFace Records took a quick 48hours trip to Beijing China and spoke to us in transit on what’s coming , his experience and the Chinese New Year. 

    Reporter: Is the company’s trip here professional or is it a leisure trip?

    CEO: Well every move we make as a company is professional. We dedicate so much energy to our visions and goals to be  implemented in the best possible way and spicing it up with fun once in a while is not a bad idea but everything we do is professional.

    Reporter: Are there possible investors, partners, collaborators that could generate from this trip?

    CEO: Now this is a round table discussion and information and we will share it amongst the right people whenever that is going on that’s why we are a team. Every move we make consists of finding a way to connect our culture, our talents and environment to the outside world, so everyday is an opportunity to speak with a collaborator or investor or however you may put it. 

    Reporter: Is China a good working environment for the Afrobeat?

    CEO: You are talking about one of the best countries when it comes to culture acceptance and appreciation. Their receptive nature towards solid culture appreciation is on the magnitude level and that’s why we are bringing our culture here. The way they love and appreciate theirs is a sign and proof of how they will respect ours and it’s already happening, and Afrobeat has never been perceived as less than excellent in any culture or working environment.

    Reporter: Do you think Chinese collaborators will impact the system and culture of the company?

    CEO: Well that is what we are all about. Diversification. Creating a culture and working environment that allow other traditions to flourish. Now you have a global movement when you have somebody from Beijing participating in a vision, two people in Europe creating the idea and an African or American implementing it, you have a solid global movement and that is what SmallFace Records is all about.

    Reporter: The quick trip looked like it came with an activity buzz, are we expecting anything ?

    CEO: Well if you’re following us closely you’ll know that there has never been a day you don’t expect something from us maybe most of them might not be on camera but that’s our work, it comes with a lot of consistency so for sure you should expect something.

    Reporter: It is the Chinese New Year season. How is the company celebrating it?

    CEO: Well their culture is always exciting for us and this is one of them. There are so many practices and events that are fun to participate in during the lunar new year and as the season unfolds we are happy to share and pray with them in the most positive way.

    Reporter: Is DERAA still working on new music?

    CEO: Yes of course. I like the energy and passion at which he works. I have said it in my previous interviews that He shows up today With a good song, next tomorrow he comes with another that is beautiful to ignore, so it’s always a pleasant and exciting news to hear that DERAA is in the studio.
